Business Account Location Eligibility
Overview
Admins can limit the serviceable area for business accounts via Location Groups. The serviceable area for business accounts must be a part of the standard serviceable areas so admins can only restrict serviceable locations for business accounts, not expand locations.
Configuring B2B Serviceable Areas
To limit the serviceable area for business accounts can be configured via Location Groups. Steps to updating:
- Reach out to Spresso to confirm the name of the location group for B2B eligibility
- Navigate to Foxtrot > Location Group Bulk Update and download the CSV template
- Update the serviceable area using postal codes or City/District/Wards depending on your organization's configuration
Business User Experience
The Spresso Commerce platform will perform several checks and validations throughout the customer journey to ensure business accounts adhere to serviceable locations. These include:
- Account Registration
- Add a New Shipping Address
- Proceed to Checkout
- Place Order
If a customer does have an ineligible address, the customer will be prompted with an error message that their address is not currently serviceable and to pick a new address.
Best Practices
- To prevent an influx of support tickets and questions, we recommend publishing your list of serviceable areas for customer transparency leveraging pages for easy reference
- Always update the B2B serviceable location group for any new store openings
- Retain a local copy of the B2B serviceable locations to ensure updates can be done in a timely fashion
- Proactively communicate to business accounts if you plan on no longer supporting their area
