ACS/AMP: Points
This guide is only applicable for organizations that are integrated with ACS and AMP.
Loyalty users are able to earn and redeem points. Points are awarded upon order settlement. See details below for an overview of point scenarios and calculations.
Redeemed Points
The chart below explains what happens to a customer's redeemed points based on their order status.
Scenario | Order Status | Expected Result |
---|---|---|
Redeemed Points 1 | Order Successful | Points redeemed are removed from user’s balance immediately |
Redeemed Points 2 | Payment Not Successful | Points redeemed are returned to user's point balance |
Redeemed Points 3 | Order Cancellation | Points redeemed are returned to user's point balance |
Redeemed Points 4 | Order is returned post settlement | Points redeemed are refunded as credit |
Earned Points
The chart below explains what happens to a customer's earned points based on their order status.
Section | Order Status | Expected Result |
---|---|---|
Earned Points 1 | Order is fully cancelled before settlement | No earned points are added to user's point balance |
Earned Points 2 | Order is settled (picked up/ delivered) | Earned points are added to user's point balance upon settlement |
Earned Points 3 | Order is partially cancelled before settlement due to OOS item | Points are recalculated based on the final settlement amount and added to user’s balance upon settlement |
Earned Points 4 | Order is settled and then fully returned (post settlement) | Any earned points will be removed from user's point balance |
Earned Points 5 | Order is settled and then partially returned (post settlement) | Any earned points on the returned items will be removed from user's point balance |
Point Calculations
Below is a list of how earned points are calculated and the items on which customers cannot earn points.
- Points are earned on the order total at settlement, minus any delivery fees or taxes.
Another way to think about it is that points are earned on the order subtotal, minus any discounts on the order. - The below “items” are not included when calculating points earned on an order. Users do not earn points on the below:
- Delivery Charges
- Taxes
- Price Modifier Surcharges
- The below “discounts” are subtracted from the order subtotal before calculating the points earned on an order. User’s do not earn points on the below:
- Points/Rewards
- Promo Codes
- Negative Price Modifiers
