WAON Site Experience

This guide is only applicable for organizations that are integrated with WAON Points.

Customers can sign up for a WAON account or link their existing WAON account to become a connected WAON user on all Spresso platforms (web, iOS and android).

We support two distinct user experiences:

  1. Connected experience:
    1. Users connected to a WAON member account can earn points, redeem points for vouchers, and apply vouchers at checkout.
  2. Not connected experience
    1. Users not connected to a WAON member account are prompted to sign up or link their existing WAON account.

Registration

Users can register via the Join Waon modal and form that is prompted throughout the site:

  1. After account registration and after login:

  1. Navigation placement:

  1. Account page placement:

  1. Order confirmation page placement:

Pressing Join on any of these placements will open the Join WAON form where a user can submit the required fields to sign up.

  • If both the personal ID number and mobile number are matched to an existing WAON account → Existing WAON member account is connected.
  • If neither the personal ID number and mobile number are matched to an existing WAON account → New WAON member account is created and connected.
  • If either the personal ID number or mobile number is matched to an existing WAON account but not the other → An error will display and no account will be created or connected.

After successful registration, the user's site experience will update immediately.

Point Balance Display

Connected WAON members can view their point balance in the Navigation and on their Account Page. Both placements will take the user to the voucher landing page.

    3. User can exchange for one or multiple vouchers depending on their point balance.
    4. After successful redemption, vouchers will appear in the 'YOUR WAON VOUCHERS' tab and will be available at checkout.

    2. There is no action to take here. It is simply a listing of their available vouchers.

Redeem Vouchers at Checkout

WAON users can view and apply vouchers at checkout.

  1. Selecting "View your WAON vouchers" will open a modal display that user's redeemed vouchers.
  2. User can select 1 or multiple vouchers to apply to their order.
  3. User can navigate to the voucher landing page from this modal to redeem points for more vouchers.

  2. The sum total of all vouchers applied will display in the order summary.
  3. Voucher value will be applied until the order total is 0.
    1. If the order total is less than the voucher total, a partial amount of the voucher will apply to the order. The user will lose this remaining voucher overage.
  4. Vouchers will be added in the order they are applied.
  5. If multiple vouchers are applied causing the order total hit 0 and the entire value of a voucher is unused, it will be removed from the order and return to the user.
