Campaign URL Builder

As a Foxtrot admin user, I can set up Campaign URLs for web and mobile app application.

Overview

UTM Parameters are unique identifiers added to the end of a URL that can be used to track and report out on specific sources and audiences of a campaign.

These are typically used to track traffic coming to the website or app from an external marketing channel (ie, email).

Our campaign URL builder feature easily allows you to set up and manage these tags.

To manage campaign URLs, navigate to the Campaign URL Builder page in Foxtrot.

URL Builder

  • Under this tab, a user can generate the exact URL they should use to monitor a specific campaign driving traffic to the site/app.
  • By entering the Website URL as well as any necessary UTM parameters, the Campaign URL will auto generate at the top of the tab.
    • A Campaign Source must be added in order to generate a campaign URL
    • The user can copy this URL by pressing copy to clipboard
  • Website URL: Enter the website URL where the campaign is being sent (ie, aeoneshop.com)
  • Campaign Source: Search for an existing utm_source to have that utm_source added to the URL
  • Campaign Medium: Search for an existing utm_medium to have that utm_medium added to the URL
  • Campaign Name: Search for an existing Marketing Campaign to have that Marketing Campaign added to the URL
  • Campaign Purpose: Search for an existing utm_purpose to have that utm_purpose added to the URL
  • Campaign Target: Search for an existing utm_target to have that utm_target added to the URL

Add Fields (utm)

  • Under this tab, a user can create and add new Source, Medium, Purpose and Target UTM parameters that can be added to their Campaign URL.
    • After adding UTM fields on this tab, the names will be searchable on the URL Builder Tab.
  • Source: The source of the Campaign URL (ie, posts_on_google)
  • Medium: The channel where the Campaign URL will be sent out (ie, paid_social)
  • Purpose: The purpose of the Campaign URL (ie, acquisition)
  • Target: The target audience of the Campaign URL (ie, B2B)

Edit Fields (utm)

  • Under this tab you can View All Sources, View All Mediums, View All Purposes, and View All Targets
  • By clicking into any of the "View Alls" the user can cross-reference existing UTM parameters to make sure they do not duplicate (since UTM's need to be unique).
  • By clicking into any of the "View Alls" the user can delete any existing UTM parameter by clicking the garbage can icon.
